Out of Control

Do you ever find yourself out of options. I mean really out of options. Everything that you have been thinking about, planning for, and striving for comes to a screeching halt. Well, that is where I am. I have been making big plans and dreaming about what I want out of life and now I have to just put it all away. Tuck it away someplace safe and pray that one day I can wipe the dust off of my dreams and they will come to fruition. But today, my heavenly Father showed me just who is in control and it isn't me. So now I have a choice. I can accept that He knows what is best for my life and learn to trust Him exclusively and completely or be miserable and depressed and get mad or blame the devil or what ever else we tend to do when faced with a situation that is completely out of our control. So today, after the initial shock and attitude, I will choose to trust. Because I really do trust Him. Yahweh has proven Himself trustworthy over and over again in our life so how could I doubt or blame Him now. I cannot. So today I turn all of my life over to Jehovah who will not let me down. The sad reality is, I thought I had already turned everything over to Him. Now I realize I was still trying to steer things my way. Wow! What a revelation!

Long time no blog! I am not sure why I wait so long between posts except that we are busy with life and I do not take the time. I would like to blog more often so maybe I can be a little more diligent with it. August: things we have been up to: Cade's 7th b-day, my FIL's 70th b-day, soccer and more soccer, working with Titia at All About Sports, hanging out with friends, working on the tree house, stargazing and looking for meteors, working on reading and math, playing games and with Legos, and many more things that I cannot think of right now. September: things we have been up to: Brandon's 25th b-day! (I am surely not old enough for a 25 year old), friends b-day party at Sliding Rock, learning new tricks on the skateboard, study of Ancient Egypt, more reading and math, soccer and more soccer, games and Legos, and again, many more things that I cannot think of right now! The picture with the spider in it was of that spider on a flower in our front flower bed. I would never have noticed it but I saw two dead bumble bees on the flower and it was eating a third. It was quite disgusting but the boys thought it was interesting. We have also enjoyed watching all the butterflies and hummingbirds filling up for their flight south.

Cade's Party

Cade's birthday was last week but most of his friends were sick so we postponed his party until today. I think everyone had a great time. Let's see. There was football, trampoline jumping, swimming, nerf fighting, presents, pinata smashing, and cake! Yeah, that's about all. Thanks to all his friends for making his party extra special!

Happy Birthday Cade!

Today my baby boy turns 7. Unbelievable! Some things about Cade: extremely passionate about life, loves his family, has more life and enthusiasm and energy in his little body than most people get to experience in their lifetime! Cade loves music, sports (mostly baseball and basketball), guns, swimming, tubing, legos, and playing with his friends. Raising Cade is pushing Russ and I to our limits and causing us to use our imagination to keep up with him and sometimes try to reel him in a little. What we do not want to do is to squash his zest for life. Anything that boy puts his mind to he will accomplish. The sky is the limit for his potential. Now to just keep him alive and healthy and his energies pointed in a positive direction! lol These are pictures of Cade's special day and his new room.

Water Slide!

Michelle and Kyle have moved to an amazing place called the Potters Place. They help maintain the cabins and grounds. It is a retreat for people in ministry. It is a peaceful place to get alone with the Father. They also have this awesome water slide that goes down this big hill. As soon as the boys got over the chicken pox we went for a visit. The boys had a great time playing on the slide. But I think the big kids had more fun than the little ones did!

Science experiments gone awry!

So, we have attempted two science experiments in the last week that was a bust. The first one I found on pinterest. You were supposed to take some mountain dew (about 1/4 of the bottle), a dash of baking soda, and 3 capfuls of hydrogen peroxide and shake it up. Then it was supposed to glow in the dark like a glow stick. It didn't glow at all. Most disappointing:( The next one we tried I found in a cool book the boys have with all kinds of interesting facts and things to do. Anywhoo, you take 2 raw eggs and put one in a glass of water and the other in a glass of vinegar. Then you wait several hours. Finally, you drop them both on the ground and the one soaked in vinegar was supposed to bounce. Well you can see from the picture that it was a total bust. Maybe it was because we used plastic glasses instead of glass? We will have to test that theory tomorrow! I almost forgot about Isaac's rocket getting stuck in a tree the first launch! Adventure is out there!
