Halloween 2010

We have had a great time this month creating costumes and decorating jackolantern jars. Cade is Russell off of the movie "Up" and Isaac is Albert Einstein. They have been practicing thier parts all month. We have learned several things about Einstien, and Cade can recite the part from Up when Russell first goes up to the door and talks to Mr. Frederickson. We went to the church for the Halloween carnival. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, even the adults!

Awesome week in TN!

We had a great week in Hendersonville, TN last week at the ICMA week. We met a lot of great people and listened to a lot of great music. We made connections and friends with people we will definitely see again. We are already looking forward to next year. The boys were fantastic all week. Even on the drive there and back.

I think they really enjoyed themselves also. One of the best parts of the week was the late night jam sessions where all the artists got together and played guitars and sang. That was cool. We also enjoyed walking around Nashville and eating at the Wild Horse Saloon. Now if I could catch up on the unpacking and getting back in the swing of things.

A cool thing that happened this week: last night we were playing around on the National Geographic Kids website and we were taking quizes, so this morning the boys wake up and they say "hey mom, can we take a quiz today?" How many kids ask to take a quiz? That is what you get when you don't wear them out with busywork and uninteresting information! The world is full of fun and interesting things to learn and do and that is the goal of our homeschool. To learn and experience as much as possible! Did you know the ancient Mayan people had domesticated dogs not for pets but for food? That is just one of the many interesting facts we learned this week.

Good Times!

We are having a great time in Tennessee. Staying very busy but it's all good. We have met many wonderful people since we have been here. We met this one family that the dad was in the Gulf war and he was badly injured. He is home and recovered (mostly) now and they travel around and he gives his testimony. It is awesome! I will post pictures and names of people when I get home. Russ sang the Midnight Cry last night on the main stage. He got an awesome response from the crowd and the owner of HMG. He was mc'ing and gave Russ rave reviews. Also, Chuck Day was in the audience, the writer of the song, he told Russ that that was the best rendition of his song that he ever heard. We were blown away by that. He wants to talk to Russ sometime this week. That will be interesting. Well, enough bragging. We had lunch today at the Wild Horse Saloon. It was a No. 1 Celebration luncheon for all the artists that got a #1 song on the CCM charts this year. That was fun also. Now we are getting ready for Russ to sing again for a showcase. All is well in Hendersonville, TN!

Anticipation!

We have been praying for the past few weeks that we would have enough money for our trip to Nashville. Up until today we did not have everything we need. But God came through like He always does! On wednesday, an unexpected donation came to the ministry from a church because some of the girls from our church helped this church with VBS and they gave our ministry a donation in their honor. We have collected CD sale money from a number of sources. We found $200 that we forgot we had. And I was looking through some old CD's that I haven't listened to in a few years to take on the trip and found $24 in one of the CD cases. Most unusual! But God is definitely in the business of the unusual. After pulling all our resources together today, and after paying payroll and bills, we had just exactly what we prayed for for the trip! God is positively great!

There has been much planning and packing this week. We did manage one day at the park. The weather has been perfect! 70's and sunny! We are looking forward to a great week.

Nashville here we come!
