Coming Back!

I have missed this blog! I have not accomplished what I hoped I would with the other blog so I am coming back here for all of our life adventures! I hope you will join us in this adventure called life! Now, an update on our adventures lately. May is the end of several things for us. First, it is the end of our school year. We will start the next school year on June 1st since we homeschool year round. You never know when a learning adventure will occur! We went to Atlanta for a soccer tournament. That was the end of our soccer season until August. We had an end of the season party on Sunday at Oconee State Park. The boys had a great time jumping off the high dive. We celebrated Russ' 50th birthday at Chau Ram Park. We have also enjoyed several things such as, smoked brisket, chicken, and turkey burgers cooked on his new grill that he got for his birthday. We have gone to the Chatooga River and High Falls Park with friends. The boys participated in an online science class on chemistry. They made glow in the dark slime among other things. Russ and I went to the Peace Center and saw Phantom of the Opera. The show was incredible. While we were eating in downtown Greenville, a Scottish parade went by. That was an unexpected surprise. This is just a taste of our adventures for May. Now on to enjoy the summer! Adventure is out there!

Isaac turns 12!

Unbelievable! Today Isaac turned 12. Why am I always saying how time flies? Because I think about it every day. Watching how quickly the boys are growing up is a constant reminder. I am amazed at how much Isaac has matured over the last year. He is still extremely sweet and has a great sense of humor and a great imagination. Isaac has improved 100 fold in soccer since last August. I am extremely proud of the young man he is becoming. Isaac is a joy to be around and I am blessed to be his mom.

Brevard, NC

Today we decided to take a drive to Brevard, NC. We stopped at Whitewater Falls on the way up. It was beautiful. Then it was on to Brevard. The boys favorite place in Brevard is O. P. Taylors toy store. We found another awesome store today. I cannot remember the name of it but it was very close to the toy store. It had awesome globes, planets, and hot air balloons hanging from the ceiling and all types of cool things sitting around. They had old arcade and pinball machines and an old juke box that played old single records. They had peddle cars on the floor and awesome unique clocks hanging on the wall. And my favorite, globes everywhere! Unfortunately, my phone was dead and I forgot to bring the camera so I do not have any pictures of this awesome place. The leaves were unbelievably beautiful. It was an awesome day!

Denver Downs

Today we went on a field trip to Denver Downs Farm in Anderson, SC. We played on a giant trampoline, swung from a rope in a hay barn, climbed on bales of hay, went on a hay ride, played with giant checkers, picked out pumpkins, pet baby animals, and walked a few steps into the corn maze then tuned around and walked back out. The whole trip was great until the corn maze. This woman told us to walk in so far in a single file then turn around and come back out the same way we went in without touching any of the corn or getting off the path. I guess they lost a kid in there or something because the whole thing was strange. Anyway, the main reason we wanted to go on the field trip was to go into the corn maze and possibly get lost or at least try to find our way out the hard way. Needless to say, that was a total disappointment. I am sure if we would have went on our own it would not have been that way. Next time we will not go with a group. At least the boys had a great time!
